History

 This facility was established in October 1976 as the second of 14 national children's nature houses for young people in Japan as part of a project to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the school system by the then Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). In April 2001, it was merged with the Independent Administrative Institution National Youth Nature Center Nasu Koshi Boys Nature House, and in April 2006 with the Independent Administrative Institution National Olympics Memorial Youth Center and the Independent Administrative Institution National Youth House, and became the National Institution for Youth Education Nasu Koshi Youth Nature Center. As one of the 27 regional facilities in Japan, it strives to provide a variety of hands-on activities with the goal of "youth independence through hands-on activities.

Facility Overview

 The facility is located on a 1.3 million m2 site in Nikko National Park, where the headwaters of the Abukuma River and rich forests spread out, and offers a variety of programs such as mountain climbing on Mt. Through these experiences, we nurture children's "rich spirit" and cultivate their "zest for life.

Symbols and emblems

The design is a combination of the "N" of Nasu (NASU) and the "K" of Koshi (KASHI) for the National Nasu Koshi Youth Nature House.
Nickname

Nasukashi Forest" hopes to protect and nurture this rich and irreplaceable forest for the children who will be responsible for the next generation.
